Leadership Transition and Farewell Celebration

Eighth Street Community, a cherished organization that has been serving the greater Huntsville/Madison County area since 1979, is undergoing a significant leadership transition.

Andrea Williams, Executive Director, developed a deep connection with the organization as her grandparents Gordon and Inez served as Directors from 1982-2001. “Eighth Street has been part of my family for 44 years” Williams continues, “and it is my vision to serve as a volunteer and see it prosper for the deserving population of residents with different abilities.”

The mission of Eighth Street Community is to cultivate a family of diverse disabled adults who are ineligible of receiving state assistance and provide them a home and opportunities that enable them to grow in their community.

As Eighth Street bids farewell to Andrea's dedicated leadership, the annual fundraiser Love Grows Here, sponsored by Venturi a Chenega Company has been chosen to commemorate this momentous occasion that highlights the family lineage of the Eighth Street Community mission and a look at their future.
